SecProTec East Africa 2016 powered by Intersec 52 participating (11 nations) and 1,510 visitors (9 nations)

SecProTec East Africa powered by Intersec took place for the fourth time. The second edition in partnership with Messe Frankfurt and its world famous brand “Intersec” proved to be the leading security business platform for the whole East and Central African region. From 15th – 17th September 2016, 52 local and international companies showed their latest products and innovations to the security industry. The companies represented 11 different countries - Arab Emirates, China, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Kenya, Pakistan, South Africa and Taiwan.

1,510 trade visitors and government bodies mostly from Kenya, but also from Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and the United Arab Emirates, attended the exhibition and conference in the Kenyatta International Convention Centre – an increase of 7.3 % compared to SecProTec 2015. The exhibitor profile covered industry fields like fire fighting & prevention equipment, homeland security equipment, police equipment, commercial security like CCTV and access control systems, IT & Data protection systems, personal protection equipment and personal security services.

SecProTec joined also forces with the organizer of GPEC® & CCExpo® again. This partnership started in 2015 and is about to complement especially the Homeland Security, Policing and Information Security sectors at SecProTec East Africa powered by Intersec. The GPEC®-CCExpo®-Pavilion with totally 5 companies providing security solutions for those sectors continued its successful story at SecProTec.

Alongside the exhibition, visitors joined the high level conference program to gather information about security for data storage, unauthorized wireless communication or effective organizational counter surveillance. Well-known international speakers presented projects and future solutions.The chairman of the conference was Mr. Enock Makanga, who also introduced the new powerful Kenyan security association PROSAK (Protective & Safety Association of Kenya).
